Illegal seizure of a motorcycle?
In March the police came to my home with court papers to pick up a motorcycle that was in my name and my son as beneficiary. Because he is behind on child support payments was the reasoning for the pickup. The next day in court papers were shown that I was the owner and not my son but it was not accepted. Every week for the past 3 months we were in the courts until finally a couple of weeks ago there was another hearing in front of another judge. The ruling was that indeed this bike belonged to me and was to be returned. My problem? They took a nice, running bike without problems and what I picked up was a piece of junk. Things were missing, broken and as they brought it out of the storage place the oil poured out of it so instead of it being able to ride it home it had to be put on a trailer. My question is, since they had to return the bike after proof that it was always mine and not my son's until I am dead, wouldn't this be considered illegal seizure and shouldn't the courts be responsible for the repairs? Thank you for any remarks.
