Kissing Help, Serious Trouble?

I'm 15 and in high school, and a couple of days ago, I met with my gf, and she wanted to make out. Me, never kissed anyone in my life, thought it would be ok and whatnot, so we decided that we were going to. Well, this is what happened. We both went in for the kiss, but I had NO IDEA of what to do, and I stopped and pulled back after a second or two. We tried several more tries, but again, I pulled back and I just can't for some reason, and I couldn't keep my eyes closed either. The whole thing was embaressing, but she said it was ok nd tht we'd try again. Now don't call me "gay" or anything because of this, and I just want to know how to make out/french kiss and whatnot. And yes, i did look online for like 3 hours of videos and articles before we actually tried, and nothing helped. So how can i become a better kisser/make out?
