Girls?! putting in a tampon?!?

i can get the plastic part in but im too scared to push the thing to get the cotton thingy in haha this girl at my school last year got one stuck and idk why but im just SO scared like as in on the verge on crying for getting it up there. is this normal? why and i so scared!? im also 15 and i want to wear yoga pants and huge pads are embaressing even if they aren't showing it feels like it all the time :( please give me some advice!!!!!!
