How do i treat dandruff?

I've had flakey dead skin for over 3 years now. I've tried using Selsem Blue, and other products like Head & Shoulders but it seems that it doesnt help. Its very annoying how i get flakes because its embaressing when i hang out with friends or go out. is there any way to treat this??
